Hi and welcome to Carson City's Building Division Web Site. We would like to thank you for your interest in Carson City and the services that we offer. The Building Division consists of four sections: Administration, Plan Review and Processing, Field Services, and the Building Permit Center, commonly referred to as the "One Stop Shop." Each section is involved in the processing, review, approval and inspection for construction projects. Our "One Stop Shop" will provide one day turn-around on the smaller construction applications that are not on a well or septic tank.
We place a level of duty commensurate with the life safety responsibility to protect the general public by adopting construction codes and standards, issuance of permits to construct to approved plans, provide on-site inspections and maintain training programs that provides a staff that is competant, responsive and user friendly.

The Building Division is dedicated to public safety in the built environment through professionalism in code administration, plan review, inspections and to effectively provide the community with a responsive and user friendly level of service in the issuance of building permits.

Office Hours/Scheduling Inspections -
We are open Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and closed between 12:00 - 1:00 pm.
All requests for inspections must be called into our office no later than 4:00 pm the day before the inspection is needed. Please call the Building Division at (775) 887-2310 to schedule inspections.
