General Facility Description

In the heart of Carson City located at 851 E. William St. the Carson City Community Center is easily accessible from Hwy 395, Hwy 50 and Roop St. and is comprised of a 10,000 square foot gymnasium, men’s and women’s locker rooms, a large classroom, a commercial kitchen, two meeting rooms, and an 803-seat theater. Bonanza Room

The Bonanza Room is located on the east side of the Community Center. There is approximately 750 square feet, allowing for an approximate seating capacity of 40 theater style with a head table. Two tables and 40 chairs are included in the standard rental fee. Additional tables can be rented at additional cost; however, no more than six tables can be accommodated in this room, and the seating capacity is reduced. This room is carpeted, has fluorescent lighting and a multi-media presentation board mounted on one wall.

Comstock Room

The Comstock Room is also located on the east side of the Community Center.  This room has recently been converted to a classroom with a special exercise floor and is currently being used for exercise and karate classes. Consequently, the room is unavailable for rentals or meetings.

Sierra Room

The Sierra Room is located on the west side of the Community Center. There is approximately 1,457 square feet, allowing for a seating capacity of about 80 theater style. Two tables and 80 chairs are included in the standard rental fee. Additional tables can be rented for an additional fee; however, no more than 8 tables can be accommodated in this room and the seating capacity would be reduced. This room is carpeted, has fluorescent lighting and is also equipped with a sound system and a small hand sink. This room is used by the Board of Supervisors for Carson City. Therefore, if a meeting is called, they have bumping rights. In this event, everything possible shall be done to move your event to another room or reschedule it for the earliest date available.

Bob Boldrick Theater

A well equipped theater which can accommodate an evening's entertainment for up to 783 people (787) general seating, 8 wheelchair and 8 companion).   Setting and technical equipment can be provided for such events as plays, lectures, movies, concerts and religious services.

Gymnasium

Except for "grandfathered in" events, the gymnasium is no longer available for rentals.  Its use is restricted to Recreation Division Youth and Sports programs, general elections, and other City-sponsored events.
